The last of the original Flamingo Hotel structure was torn down on December 14, 1993, and the hotel's garden was built on-site. The Flamingo's four hotel towers were built (or expanded) in 1977, 1980, 1983, 1986, 1990, and 1993.

2. There are more fake flamingos in the world than real ones. There are just under two million flamingos in the wild, whereas their kitschy plastic cousins, produced on a mass scale since 1957, number well into the millions. General fact: real flamingos die, plastic ones do not.
